Amagansett is an excellent place for outdoor activities and historical excursions. Indian Wells Beach is a peaceful beachfront with blue waters. Sunbathing and swimming are common pastimes at Indian Wells. There’s also a shaved ice truck to cool down on the hottest of summer days. Atlantic Avenue Beach is immaculate and has soft sand ideal for beach volleyball. Every summer, the beach holds an annual Sand Castle Contest. Atlantic Avenue has a little concession stand that sells snacks as well.
The East Hampton Town Marine Museum displays Amagansett’s important whaling and fishing history. Tours provide a look at real-life whaling artifacts and models, along with panoramic fishing diagrams and photographs.
The town of Amagansett is served by different school districts based on classroom grade. Amagansett School is for kids from prekindergarten through sixth grade, while middle schoolers and high schoolers attend East Hampton Schools.
