The seaside village of Sag Harbor is the epitome of the Hamptons. Full of heart and soul, this diverse community is bursting with vintage charm. Sag Harbor boasts luxurious properties with awe-inspiring coastal views, making the town one of the most highly desired places to live in the Hamptons. Sag Harbor played a major role in the whaling industry, so much so that it was mentioned in the great American novel Moby Dick. Herman Melville isn’t Sag Harbor’s only brush with the literary world — John Steinbeck and his wife Elaine lived in a quintessential New England cottage in the Village on Bluff Point Lane. This is where Steinbeck began drafting Travels with Charley: In Search of America.

Sag Harbor has a rich historical background as well. The town served as the United State’s first port of entry and Long Island’s first custom home was built here.
