Crow’s Nest is also magical with its sweeping lawn that opens up to breathtaking sunsets. The restaurant’s Mediterranean menu has refined fish dishes, elaborate desserts, and creative cocktails. Montauk has an incredible array of parks and beaches. Hither Hills State Park and Montauk Point State Park are well-liked for their hiking trails and walking dunes. What’s unique about the hamlet’s various state parks is that they all offer different landscapes to enjoy. Montauk’s beaches are some of the nicest in the country too. Locals head to the ocean for surfing, sportfishing, sailing charters, and sunset cruises.The legendary Montauk Point Light was approved by George Washington, making it the first public structure built by the new United States government in 1792. The Montauk Lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark and now serves as a museum that is open for tours. The Ranch is a famous property that was formerly owned by Andy Warhol. Today, the land is owned by art dealer Max Levi who has opened up many of the barns to the public. Locals visit The Ranch to admire various art exhibitions and outdoor sculptures.
