Sagaponack is a moneyed community that offers generous and luxurious country living. Located in the town of Southampton, this tiny neighborhood is one of the most affluent ZIP codes in the country. Homes here are owned by celebrities and business executives who tout some of the most opulent properties on the East Coast. Architectural styles include boxy Foursquare estates, charismatic bungalows, and graceful Greek Revival mansions. Sagaponack’s history has deep roots in potato farming and today, the Sagaponack Historic District is a place of local pride. The area contains over 100 restored buildings, including the neighborhood post office and a handful of 17th- and 18th-century homes.

Life in Sagaponack is like glamorous country living. Properties are lavish and have breathtaking views of beaches and sunsets. The neighborhood is private and exclusive, serving as a haven for its residents. Sagaponack’s proximity to the coast makes it an ideal location and locals enjoy spending their free time at the beach. Although its real estate is outrageously valuable, Sagaponack still maintains a rural atmosphere. The hamlet has a significant farming history and residents are proud of Sagaponack’s heritage. Main Street is where you’ll find the hamlet’s incredible dining, entertainment, and shopping scene.Townline BBQ cooks up Texas staples like brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw. The barbecue joint puts dry rub on all of its meats, smokes them to perfection, and then tops them with homemade sauce. Townline also has a great selection of beers on tap and some of the smoothest whiskeys. Loaves & Fishes is a destination in and of itself. This family establishment includes a restaurant, food store, cookshop, and inn. The restaurant crafts seasonal dishes and specialty cocktails, while the grocery sells gourmet bread and fresh seafood. The cookshop is stocked with kitchenware and dinnerware and the inn serves daily breakfast to both its guests and the public.
The world-renowned Madoo Conservancy is a popular spot on the weekends. This lovely garden belonged to the late painter Robert Dash and now hosts cultural exhibitions, events, and classes. The conservancy also has an onsite shop selling artistic works and garden supplies. Shops in this affluent hamlet consist of clothing, jewelry, and furniture boutiques. Sagaponack is home to several farmers’ markets as well. Pike Farms is a well-stocked farm stand on Main Street that sells produce, baked goods, honey, and jams.
Things to Do
Sagaponack’s terrific Sagg Main Beach and Gibson Beach have plenty of outdoor activities to take part in. Locals go to the beach to surf, swim, fish, and hike. Amenities at these beautiful seasides include barbecues and firepits, and dogs and ATVs are allowed with a permit. Poxabogue Golf Center is a pleasant nine-hole golf course suitable for all skill levels. The golf center has phenomenal practice facilities, a pro golf shop, and a wonderful restaurant. Poxabogue also provides golf lessons, clinics, and camps taught by a professional staff. Locals hang out at Wölffer Estate Vineyard to socialize and savor some of the finest wines. The vineyard is known for producing award-winning wine labels as well as stellar ciders and spirits. White Horse and Grapes of Roth are Wölffer Estate’s most well-known labels celebrated for their elegant yet complex tastes. The vineyard also holds regular events and offers membership to their premier Wine Club.Schools
The neighborhood is served by different school districts based on classroom grade. Sagaponack’s Little Red Schoolhouse is solely for kids from kindergarten through third grade.
