Things to DoWater Mill has an impressive art scene and significant historical background. The hamlet got its name from a working watermill that was built back in 1664. Today, the restored water mill is a rural museum that showcases art and depicts history. The Watermill Center also promotes artistry through visual works and performance acts. The center provides guided tours and meditations and has both a library and garden open for guests to enjoy. The world-class Parrish Art Museum has over 3,000 artistic pieces, displays special rotating exhibitions, and offers over 100 public classes and workshops annually.
Flying Point Beach is the hamlet’s main beach. It is beautiful and clean, making it ideal for a relaxing beach weekend. Picnicking, fishing, kayaking, and sand volleyball are all popular pastimes at this lovely beach. It’s common to see locals driving along the oceanfront in their decked-out ATVs too.
